To deliver a best in class rotational development opportunity for Operations MAP (OMAP) participants through experiential learning, training, and networking opportunities.  The Operations MAP Program is designed to give associates the necessary tools, early in their careers, to manage their professional development, realize their potential, and maximize their contributions to Bank of America.


The Operations Management Analyst Program (OMAP) is a 2 year undergraduate program designed to provide external candidates and selected internal associates with an opportunity to prepare for future leadership positions in the bank's operational lines of business.

OMAP is a development program that focuses on operational line of business functions within Bank of America and provides associates with the opportunity to move through two rotational assignments within various groups of the organization.  OMAP associates participate in a variety of activities designed to foster teamwork, encourage networking, and demonstrate Bank of America's vision and culture.  Participants are given the opportunity to attend OMAP events and will be encouraged to further develop leadership skills by leading projects or committees. 

Two 1-year rotational assignments in which potential roles/responsibilities may include:

  • Business Support Lead:  Provides business support to a team; responsibilities include data collection and analysis, project implementation/point of contact, and performance catalyst.
  • Operations Team Lead:  Directs a small unit or section of internal operations activities; responsibilities focus on the day to day resolution of problems and execution of transactions within specific operations units requiring immediate and frequent involvement with unit activities.
  • Operations Analyst:  Performs day-to-day analysis, research and resolution of varied problems; administers defined procedures, analysis/report generation, and exception processing.
  • Change Analyst:  Acts as a supporting role on change initiatives via the facilitation of project workgroup meetings, management of project documentation standards and system/s of record, and the delivery of implementation and control plans.
  • Process Design Analyst:  Supports the Process Design Consultant with the integration of best practices to ensure continuous process improvement; analyzes, updates and implements procedures utilizing process improvement models and techniques.
  • Operational Risk Specialist: Analyzes existing practices within operational risk management across the company in the areas of data management, data quality, information and reporting; develops solutions to problems identified which yield productivity gains consistent with company goals.


We hire an elite group of new associates with a minimum 3.0 grade point average.  Successful candidates will possess and demonstrate the ability to work in a fast paced, empowered environment.  Ideal candidates will have the demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities, learn new tools/applications quickly, and possess strong interpersonal skills. 

Required Skills

  • Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a graduation timeframe between December 2013 and June 2014 in one of the following majors: Business Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Information Management, Statistics, Economics, or Industrial Engineering
  • Demonstration of leadership outside the classroom
  • 100% geographic flexibility during two year program participation
  • Willingness to work varied schedules, including swing shift for specific operations positions
  • Solid organizational skills, excellent planning ability, and project management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications
  • Sound judgment and the ability to deal with ambiguity and high pressure situations in a changing environment
  • High standard of professionalism
  • Unlimited authorization to work in the United States

The Operations MAP training curriculum is comprehensive and offers a blend of classroom and web-based training, which complements the hands-on experience that the OMAP associates develop in their rotational assignments.  OMAP associates will also attend monthly program meetings and be presented with peer coach support.
