Assistant Vice President, Global Technology

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The most interesting part of my job is working together to solve problems with highly capable and motivated colleagues from various cultural and technical backgrounds. Debating the pros and cons of various diagnoses and potential solutions is very stimulating and a great learning experience. I especially enjoy debugging urgent production issues – figuring out the root cause of the bug from the visible symptoms feels rather like being a detective in a murder mystery!

What skills are important for a technology analyst?

A good technology analyst should have a combination of three main skills – a good understanding of the core principles of software engineering, good analytical and reasoning skills, and the ability to work well in a team comprised of people with diverse backgrounds and skill sets.

Leaders at Bank of America are very approachable and are always open to accepting new ideas and opinions expressed by the employees.

How do you describe the culture at the bank?

The best part about the culture at Bank of America is that diversity and inclusion is not just a bullet point on the HR agenda. Instead it is at the heart of how the bank functions. It is something I experience in my everyday interactions, which are made richer by the diverse backgrounds and perspectives brought in by the people around me.

Another important aspect of the culture here is the flat hierarchy. Regardless of their seniority, leaders at Bank of America are very approachable and are always open to accepting new ideas and opinions expressed by the employees.

How does the bank support your development?

The bank offers various trainings – online and in-person – for personal and professional development. These training range from soft skills including communication and leadership, Bank of America core values to hard skills which can involve financial knowledge as well as technical skills like Agile framework, advanced programming skills and vendor application specific workshops.

In additional to this, the strong support for internal mobility gives us the opportunity to explore various roles within the bank itself.

What do you enjoy doing in your personal time?

I love travelling and exploring new places. When I am not travelling or planning my travel, I find myself enjoying a combination of running, reading, watching movies and doing small DIY craft projects.
