As a member of the consumer MBA program, I have an opportunity to enhance my managerial skills.  It also provides me a touch point directly to the customer. I currently operate in the role of a consumer market manager, where I have the opportunity to develop tactical strategies to help drive customer growth. I find myself at banking centers working close in hand with banking center managers. To kick off the day, we essentially put together a daily huddle which incorporates our mortgage loan officers to our financial advisors. We try to pep the team up, to ensure that we have the proper customer interactions and we try to drive sales.

 

This role incorporates strategic thinking. It also involves influential skills. From day to day, I work with a team of sellers, and you've got to motivate them to ensure that they're connecting with the customer. The most rewarding aspect of the role is having influence on others and then watching that influence grow with the top line.

 

What really attracted me to the bank was that I was able to connect with some of the products that it offers its 50 plus million customers, ranging from checking accounts to savings accounts, retirement accounts. It was a fast paced environment, but it kept innovation at its forefront.

 

Manhattan is essentially the financial capital of the world. What I really liked was that a lot of projects, a lot of pilots, come through Manhattan before rolling out to the other parts of the country, and I'm right in the middle of everything.
