I chose Bank of America because I was seeking a company that really fostered long term career development. It became very apparent to me that Bank of America was hedging a long term bet on these campus talent hires and not just fulfilling a role in the mediate term.

I particularly like the operations MBA program because I get to try different roles out, see if that's a good fit for me, so that at the end of 2 years, I can kind of pick and choose where I go. Coming from the military, I had an operations background, so the two just fit nicely together, so now I find myself in operations role within the financial services industry. So as an operations consultant, the purpose of my role is really to support each line of business within wholesale credit operations, making the end to end process, from the time that underwriting, finishes their portion of a loan, to life of the loan that we service, we make that end-to-end process simpler.

Getting feedback from a client that says, wow, that process is so much simpler now and so much more user friendly, that makes me want to work harder on the next project.

I was part of a team that created a new talent pipeline for the bank for hiring military veterans. This program is called the junior officer leadership program. So this fits in line with Bank of America's strategy to hire 10,000 veterans over the next several years. This personally means a lot to me just because I come from this background and I know what my peers in the military can really bring to corporate America.

A career at Bank of America can mean many different things. This can be your one stop home where you can spend 40 years here and not do the same job twice. You can always move on and do something different. I'm on the right path with this rotational program to, in 5 years, have a significant leadership role within the bank.

I have that mindset that when this is all said and done, this project and the next project, it's aligning us to be the very best in the financial services industry.
