What are the most rewarding aspects of your job?
Working alongside incredibly talented colleagues located in diverse geographic regions, and across product teams, on projects that have a tangible impact on a client’s business. The opportunity to learn from incredibly experienced senior bankers that value your insight, and are truly invested in your development, has also been invaluable for my personal and professional growth.
What persuaded you to work for Bank of America?
Listening to current employees ranging from the analyst to the director level on the Anatomy of a Deal webinar talk so passionately about their roles and the highly inclusive and driven culture of the bank is what persuaded me to be a part of the team at Bank of America.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Every day is unique and typically involves supporting senior bankers to service our clients’ needs and win new business. No day is the same and tasks can range from interacting directly with client management teams and advisors on a credit transaction, to performing analysis on a company’s capital structure and preparing a pitch book for a client meeting.
Bank of America is an inclusive institution made up of hard-working and dedicated individuals that promote and welcome diversity of ideas, thoughts and experiences.
In one word, how would you describe Bank of America?
Collaborative.
How do you describe the culture at the bank?
I think that Bank of America is a highly inclusive financial institution made up of hard-working and dedicated individuals that actively promote and welcome the diversity of ideas, thoughts and experiences.
What skills are important for an associate in Corporate Banking?
I believe that strong communication and interpersonal skills are integral for a corporate banker. We are required to interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders (external advisors, client treasury team, lawyers and other banks) on an almost daily basis, and building rapport through these interactions has been key to developing long-term relationships.
Do you work in a global team?
Absolutely! Covering local corporates that are headquartered in Australia means that many of these companies have international operations or are looking to expand abroad. The bank does a great job of promoting connectivity internally and overseas colleagues covering these clients are only a phone call or email away.
